Winning the school’s first national championship in women’s hockey last season continues to pay dividends for Ohio State, this time on the recruiting trail. On Thursday, Stillwater(MN) High School 2006-born forward Josie St. Martin announced via Instagram that she had verbally committed to Ohio State:
St. Martin played for Team USA at this past summer’s Women’s World U18 championships, where she was one of just two players born in 2006 on the US roster. Now a junior in high school, St. Martin has been a top scorer at Stillwater since she was in 8th grade. She is a speedy winger that should fit in well with Ohio State’s style of play.
With St. Martin committing to Ohio State, and Finley McCarthy committing to Wisconsin earlier this year, that leaves just ‘06 forward Maggie Scannell as an uncommitted skater off of this summer’s U18 national team, and likely the top uncommitted player currently available.
