ESPN announced on Thursday that they have acquired the television rights to the NCAA women’s Frozen Four as part of a multi-year deal to televise the event.

This year’s Frozen Four will be held in Erie, Pennsylvania March 18-20. The first Frozen Four semifinal will be streamed via ESPN3, while the second semifinal will be aired on ESPNU. The championship game on March 20 will also air on ESPNU. Game times have not yet been announced.

It’s a big step forward for a tournament that has traditionally struggled to find a television home. The tournament was streamed through NCAA.com for a number of years before the Big Ten Network acquired the rights to the tournament in 2017.

With that four-year agreement with the Big Ten Network expiring after last season, that opened the door for ESPN to acquire the rights, as they do for a number of Division I sports.
