The WCHA announced on Tuesday that they have suspended Minnesota State junior defenseman Anna Keys one game for a collision with Wisconsin goalie Ann-Renee Desbiens in last Saturday’s 3-1 Wisconsin win in Mankato.
Todd Milewski of the Wisconsin State Journal had a still photo of the incident:
I was told yesterday that Desbiens is day-to-day after the hit (pictured from video), which forced her from the game with 13 seconds left. pic.twitter.com/uSuli02bIp

The incident occurred with 13 seconds left in regulation, and Keys was assessed a two-minute goalie interference penalty. Desbiens was shaken up on the play and had to leave the game. Wisconsin played the final 13 seconds of the game with no goalie, choosing not to burn the redshirt of their back-up goalie. With the face-off moved to the other end of the ice because of the penalty, and the man advantage, Wisconsin did not give up a goal.
Desbiens is listed as day-to-day with her injury. On Friday, Desbiens posted her 42nd career shutout, which leaves her just one shy of the NCAA record.
