Fox Sports North announced on Thursday that they have partnered with the WCHA to air an unprecedented nine women’s WCHA hockey games this season, including a spot during FSN’s Hockey Day Minnesota celebration and the championship game of the WCHA Final Faceoff.

Here is the full schedule:

Date Day Teams Time Dec. 4 Sunday Minnesota at Wisconsin 2 p.m.^ Jan. 13 Friday Minnesota at UMD 3 p.m. Jan. 14 Saturday ST. CLOUD STATE at Wisconsin 4 p.m.^ Jan. 20 Friday MSU-Mankato at ST. CLOUD STATE 3 p.m. Jan. 21 Saturday MSU-Mankato at ST. CLOUD STATE 3 p.m.+ Feb. 10 Friday Bemidji State at ST. CLOUD STATE 3 p.m. Feb. 11 Saturday Bemidji State at ST. CLOUD STATE 3 p.m.+ Feb. 18 Saturday ST. CLOUD STATE at UMD 4 p.m.+ Mar. 5 Sunday WCHA Final Faceoff Championship TBD

The televised audience should be a huge boon to the visibility of the women’s game, and is a huge victory for first year commissioner Katie Million.

Women’s college hockey has traditionally struggled to get their games on television. Last year’s Frozen Four was not televised live, though a tape-delayed airing of the game on Easter Sunday outdrew every televised men’s college hockey game last season.
