Matt Marcinew A Late Addition to Denver Roster

New, comment

New head coach Jim Montgomery finds a late recruit from his former squad.

Denver made a late addition to their roster for next season when they announced yesterday that AJHL forward Matt Marcinew would be joining the team next season. Marcinew likely takes the roster spot that was being held for Mike Szmatula, until his transfer was blocked, and Szmatula chose to remain at Northeastern.

Marcinew was the leading scorer for the Olds Grizzlys of the AJHL last season, scoring 58 points in 59 games. This offseason, he made the 30-man roster for the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the USHL, the team formerly coached by new Denver head coach Jim Montgomery, and was expected to travel to Russia with the Saints later this month to play in the World Junior Club Championships.
