Cushing Academy defenseman Rich Boyd has committed to the University of New Hampshire. The Lake Worth, Fla. native is a big, mobile blueliner who scored nine goals and added 15 assists for the Penguins last season. His USHL rights are owned by the Omaha Lancers. He's a '95 who should arrive in Durham in either 2014 or 2015.
Union College picked up a high-scoring center who will be playing for the Amarillo Bulls in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) this upcoming season. Roman Ammirato, a Williamstown, NJ native, played the past two seasons in the CCHL, a junior league in Ontario. He played one-and-a-half seasons with the Cornwall Colts before being traded to the Hawkesbury Hawks. He scored 53 goals 98 games. Ammirato will turn 21 in January, but it is believed he will arrive in Schnectady for the 2014-15 season.
