Janik Moser, a defenseman from the Mannheim Adler program in Germany committed to Ohio State, according to recruiting guru Chris Heisenberg. Moser is a late '95 birthday that stands at 5'11" 181 lbs., and has the ability to play some forward as well as defense.

It's a little strange to see a European player committing during this part of the year, but interesting connections abound with Moser. Mannheim Adler skated in this year's Elite League NIT this fall in Minnesota where Ohio State would have had the chance to see him play. Moser also made the preliminary, but not final roster for the German World Juniors squad this year, so Ohio State head coach Mark Osiecki probably had a chance to run into him in Europe prior to the tournament while Osiecki was helping as assisant coach of the US World Juniors team. Moser is also a former teammate of Muskegon Lumberjacks forward Frederik Tiffels, which could give the Buckeyes an edge in recruiting the skilled German.
