Connor Hurley Commits to Notre Dame

The star forward from Edina will play his college hockey in South Bend.

Edina High School(Minnesota) junior forward, Connor Hurley, considered by many to be the most talented player in Minnesota high school hockey this season, and a candidate to be a high selection in this summer's NHL Draft, announced on Wednesday that he had verbally committed to Notre Dame.

Hurley was an extremely highly-sought after recruit, visiting most of the top schools in the west, with his final decision coming down to either Notre Dame or his hometown University of Minnesota. Notre Dame has built a solid pipeline of Minnesota recruits. Minnesotans Nick Larson, Anders Lee, Steven Fogarty, and Mario Lucia are on this year's roster, with Jordan Gross and now Hurley lined up to join in the future.

The scouting report on Hurley is that he is a very speedy forward, with incredible passing ability and pretty good size for a skilled forward. He had a busy fall, playing in the Upper Midwest Elite League, as well as playing a pair of games with the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the USHL, and filling in for a few games with the NTDP U18 team in some college exhibitions, before returning to play for Edina this winter. NHL Draft projections have him as high as potentially the late first round, with the 2nd-4th round being the most likely spot for him.
