Austin Poganski Commits to North Dakota

The highly-regarded Cathedral forward will play for UND

Austin Poganski, a junior at St. Cloud Cathedral High School has committed to play his collegiate hockey for the University of North Dakota. Poganski is a '96 birthdate that became one of the more heavily recruited players in the upper midwest thanks to a fantastic national select camp in New York over the summer, followed by a strong tournament with the US Under-17 Select team. He was also the leading scorer for Team Great Plains in this fall's Upper Midwest Elite League. Seven games into the high school hockey season, he's put up six goals and five assists for a total of 11 points.

Listed at 6' 1/2" 194 lbs., Poganski is very strong on his skates,and plays a responsible two-way game, while also having the ability to put the puck in the net.

In addition to North Dakota, Poganski reportedly had scholarship offers from Minnesota and hometown St. Cloud, among others. He was ranked as the 10th best junior in Minnesota high school hockey in our most recent rankings of Minnesota high school players.
