Brett Beauvais Commits to Bemidji State

Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings defenseman Brett Beauvais committed to Bemidji State.

Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings(NAHL) defenseman Brett Beauvais has made a commitment to play college hockey for Bemidji State. Beauvais is a late '94 birthdate from Summerside, Prince Edward Island, who is in his second year with the Wings.

Beauvais is a puck-moving defenseman that skates well and has pretty solid hockey sense. He's listed at 5'11" 167 lbs, though appears to have a pretty thick build. So far this season, he leads Kalamazoo's defensemen in scoring with seven assists through 11 games, and has established himself as the team's best defenseman. Last year a rookie, he contributed 20 points in 60 games, with 12 of those points coming on the power play.

Bemidji already has commitments from 6'5" SJHL defender Carter Struthers, and NAHL defenseman Brady Riesgraf,. Adding Beauvais gives the Beavers another valuable piece on their blue line going forward, and continues a nice recruiting run for the Beavers after they picked up a big commitment in goalie Michael Btizer last week.
