Brandon Hawkins Leaves Bowling Green

On the eve of the beginning of the 2016-2017 season, Bowling Green announced on Friday that Brandon Hawkins, the Falcons’ top returning scorer was no longer a member of their program.

Hawkins led the Falcons in scoring in 2014-2015 as a freshman with a 16-14-30 scoring line and was named to the WCHA’s All-Rookie Team. Last season, Hawkins was second in team scoring behind senior Mark Cooper, posting a 13-15-28 scoring line.

Hawkins was picked to the preseason All-WCHA team by the coaches, and received a vote from the league’s coaches for player of the year. The Falcons were picked to finish first in the league in both the coaches’ and media polls.

Bowling Green’s season begins on Saturday with an exhibition game against Windsor. The Falcons open up WCHA play the following week with a trip to Bemidji State.
