Bowling Green rising freshman defenseman Jordan Ernst has signed a free agent contract with the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League, thus ending his college eligibility.
Ernst was a mid-season addition to Bowling Green's roster last season, joining the Falcons who were short-handed on the blue line, in part because of the defection of rookie defenseman Matthew Ferrari, who subsequently ended up in the OHL.
Ernst skated in 15 games for the Falcons, registering a pair of assists, though saw his ice time decrease in the latter stages of the season.
Ernst's departure seems at least somewhat expected, as the Falcons only lost one defenseman from last season--the graduation of semi-regular Jose Delgadillo--while adding two new defenseman for next season.
