USA Hockey has named John Wroblewski its new coach of the U.S. National Team Development Program (NTDP) Under-18 team, filling the void left by Don Granato who left to become the assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin.

Wroblewski, a 2003 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, was a two-time captain of the Fighting Irish hockey team. The Neenah, Wis. native played for the NTDP in its initial seasons and was an assistant coach for three seasons following his playing career.

After Wroblewski left the NTDP as an assistant coach, he went to the ECHL where he was an assistant coach for the Wheeling Nailers and a head coach with the Gwinnett Gladiators. He spent the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons with the AHL's Rochester Americans as an assistant coach before becoming the head coach of the Youngstown Phantoms in the United States Hockey League (USHL).
