USA Hockey announced their roster for upcoming IIHF World U18 Championships, this year held in Grand Forks.
As is usually the case, the roster is primarily made up of members from the NTDP U18 team, with a few select additions to the roster.
Expectations are high for this year's team. This tournament is considered the culmination of the two-year NTDP program for these players, and past results in this tournament have been outstanding. The US has taken home the gold in six of the last seven tournaments--the only loss coming in the gold medal game against a Connor McDavid-led Canada team--and with this year's tournament on home soil, anything less than gold will be considered a major disappointment.
The team will convene at the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minnesota this week for a pre-tournament camp, including exhibitions against Finland and Denmark, before beginning tournament play on April 14th at Ralph Engelstad Arena with a pool play game against Russia.
