Former Maine student-assistant and Canisius Director of Hockey Operations Tyler Walsh has been named an assistant coach with the US National Team Development Program U-17 Team. He will work under head coach Don Granato in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Walsh was a student-assistant and video coordinator while with the Black Bears as an undergrad from 2010-2013. He worked under the tutelage of head coach Tim Whitehead. More recently, he spent the 2013-14 at Canisius under head coach Dave Smith. The Golden Griffins advanced to the Atlantic Hockey Association championship game.
