Two days after a stunning upset to Switzerland, the United States rebounded with a 3-0 victory over the Czech Republic at the World U18 Championships in Finland.
Goalie Alex Nedeljkovic made 24 saves and was named the game's most outstanding player. Auston Matthews, Sonny Milano, and Kyle Connor each scored for the United States. Connor's goal was his second of the tournament, making him the US team's leading goal-scorer.
The win puts the United States in good position to advance to the quarterfinal round. They're still fourth in their five-team group, but could still potentially win the group with wins in their final two games and some favorable results elsewhere in the group.
The US next takes the ice tomorrow against a Denmark team that has lost both of their games so far in this tournament by wide margins. The game will take place at 11:30 EDT and can be seen for free online at FastHockey.com.
