Goaltender Patrick ‘Packy’ Munson has left the University of Denver after a mutual parting of ways with the hockey program.
Munson sat out last season with the Pioneers, after transferring from the University of Vermont. As a freshman at Vermont, Munson posted .920/2.37 numbers with a 9-10-1 record. He was named Hockey East’s Goalie of the Month for December as well.
Munson is now looking for a new school to transfer to for next season, where he will most likely be eligible to play immediately.
The Pioneers remain set in goal, returning senior goalie Tanner Jaillet, winner of last year’s Mike Richter Award as the nation’s top goalie. The Pioneers also bring in freshman goalie Dayton Rasmussen, a top young goalie from the USHL that will apprentice under Jaillet.
