Denver sophomore forward Troy Terry, Team USA’s shootout hero on the gold medal-winning US World Juniors team, will be out indefinitely for the Pioneers after suffering an upper body injury in last Friday night’s loss at Western Michigan.
Terry was second on the Pioneers in scoring this season with 11 goals and 11 assists in 20 games.
The Pioneers were able to withstand his loss for at least one game, bouncing back from Friday’s 3-0 shutout loss to blow out Western Michigan 7-2 the following night. But missing Terry for an extended period of time could hurt Denver as they compete with Minnesota Duluth down the stretch for the NCHC’s Penrose Cup. The Pioneers currently trail the Bulldogs by three points in the NCHC standings
