Packy Munson Transfers to Denver

Matt Christians

It was announced earlier this summer that goalie Packy Munson would be transferring from Vermont. On Monday, Munson announced that he would be transferring to the University of Denver.

The Centennial(MN) High School alum was a late add to Vermont's roster last year after the early departure of goalie Brody Hoffman to the pros. When Munson got an opportunity to start after an injury to Vermont's starting goalie, he was terrific for the Catamounts posting a .920 save percentage and 2.37 goals against average. His save percentage ranked fifth in the nation among freshmen goalies last year.

Munson will sit out next season due to NCAA transfer rules and then have three years of eligibility remaining beginning in 2017-2018, when he would presumably split time with incumbent starter and senior Tanner Jaillet.
