Larson was an assistant on Minnesota Duluth head coach Scott Sandelin's staff from 2008-2009 until 2010-2011, including Minnesota Duluth's run to a national title in 2011. After two seasons as the head coach and general manager in Sioux City, Larson took on a role as associate head coach at Ohio State where he worked under former fellow UMD assistant Steve Rohlik.
Larson replaces outgoing assistant coach Derek Plante, who resigned amicably with the Bulldogs earlier this summer.
