Sioux Falls Stampede hires Scott Owens

The Sioux Falls Stampede wasted no time naming a successor to Cary Eades. Former Colorado College bench boss Scott Owens will be the new head coach of the Stampede, the 2015 Clark Cup Champion.

Owens had been the head coach at his alma mater since 1999 until last spring. Prior to coaching the Tigers, he had been a USHL head coach with the Wisconsin Capitals.

After winning the Clark Cup as USHL Playoff champion, Eades, a former player and assistant coach at North Dakota, left to take the head coaching job with the Fargo Force. He had been with Sioux Falls since 2012.
