Brad Berry Named Next Head Coach at North Dakota

Matt Dewkett

Brad Berry is expected to be named the next head coach at North Dakota, according to a report from Brad Schlossman of the Grand Forks Herald. North Dakota will hold a 1pm press conference on Monday afternoon to name Berry the next coach, replacing Dave Hakstol, who was hired by the Philadelphia Flyers.

Berry is an alum of the University of North Dakota, playing for North Dakota for three years before embarking on an NHL career, most notably with the Winnipeg Jets. He's served as an assistant coach at North Dakota for the past three seasons, working primarily with North Dakota's defensemen. He also served as an assistant at North Dakota from 2000-2006 before working as an assistant coach at the AHL and NHL level.

UPDATE: North Dakota has made Berry's hiring official.
