Injury Sidelines North Dakota's St. Clair

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

North Dakota senior forward Colten St. Clair will miss the first half of the season with an undisclosed arm injury, according to a report in the Grand Forks Herald.

The injury to one of the team's alternate captains occurred in a preseason practice, according to longtime UND beat writer Brad Elliott Schlossman.

The news is particularly concerning to UND, a team that lost six of its 12 regulars up front from a year ago. The Gilbert, Ariz. native had three goals and four assists in 27 games played last season.

North Dakota opens the season this weekend at the IceBreaker at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine. Brad Berry, in his first year as coach at UND, will guide his team against Lake Superior State on Friday at 4:30 p.m. before playing the host Black Bears a night later.
