Colorado College announced on Wednesday evening that they have hired Gene Reilly as an assistant coach. He will join RJ Enga as an assistant coach under new Colorado College head coach Mike Haviland.
Reilly, an alum of New York's Elmira College just like Haviland, is an experienced hire, bringing just over 20 years of coaching experience to his new job. He has three stints of collegiate assistant coaching experience. In his first stint, he spent three years at Maine, including helping the Black Bears to the 1999 national championship. He also worked one season as an assistant at Harvard, and four years at Northeastern. He also brings some pro experience, having worked as an assistant coach for two different AHL squads.
Reilly rounds out a Tigers staff that looks strong on paper. Haviland brings experience and gravitas behind the bench thanks to extensive pro resume, Reilly is an experience recruiter with a long coaching history, and Enga is a young, up-and-coming coach with an alumni connection to the college.
