Western Michigan announced on Wednesday afternoon that associate head coach Rob Facca has taken a scouting with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Facca, known as one of the top recruiters in college hockey, worked four years at Western Michigan under head coaches Jeff Blashill and Andy Murray and helped lead a resurgence in the Bronco program. Prior to that, he worked at Northern Michigan, helping the Wildcats reach the 2010 NCAA tournament. During his time at Western Michigan, Facca also championed the fight against Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy, a disease that afflicts his son,
There's no word on a replacement for Facca at Western Michigan, though his replacement will have large shoes to fill, especially as a recruiter.
