Last night, Colorado College scored a third period goal to force a 2-2 tie, with Colorado College taking the extra league point in a shootout victory. Two goals, including one of the power play doesn't seem like much, but for a team as offensively challenged as Colorado College has been, it could serve as a nice building block.
The Huskies, meanwhile, were expecting a big weekend against the struggling Tigers, and could still come out of the weekend with an important four league points with a regulation win tonight.
Here's the line-ups for each team:
For St. Cloud State:
Cory Thorson - Nic Dowd(LAK) - Joey Benik
Jimmy Murray - Kalle Kossila - Jonny Brodzinski(LAK)
Nick Oliver(NSH) - Joe Rehkamp - Garrett Milan
Daniel Tedesco - David Morley - Ryan Papa
Andrew Prochno - Ethan Prow
Kevin Gravel(LAK) - Niklas Nevalainen
Ben Storm(COL) - Tim Daly
Ryan Faragher - Charlie Lindgren - Joe Phillippi
Garrett Milan replaces Brooks Bertsch and Tim Daly replaces Jarrod Rabey on defense tonight. There was some thought Charlie Lindgren might get a start this weekend in goal, but after tying last night, Ryan Faragher will start the second game as well.
For Colorado College:
Hunter Fejes(PHX) - Cody Bradley - Charlie Taft
Peter Maric - Archie Skalbeck - Jared Hanson
Alex Krushelnyski - Sam Rothstein - Alex Roos
Scott Wamsganz - Jeff Collett - Zach Aman
Peter Stoykewych(WPG) - Gustav Olofsson(MIN)
Ian Young - Eamonn McDermott
Aaron Harstad(WPG) - Michael King
Josh Thorimbert - Courtney Lockwood
Zach Aman replaces fellow freshman Christian Heil on the fourth line. Michael King is in for Russell Finch on the blue line.
