It has been an absolutely brutal start to the season for Colorado College. Since opening the year with a 3-1 win over Minnesota-Duluth, the Tigers are winless in eight straight games, averaging exactly one goal per game over that stretch.
The news got a little worse for them this week when it was announced that freshman goalie Tyler Marble underwent shoulder surgery last Wednesday that will end his season. Marble injured his shoulder in Colorado College's exhibition game against the US NTDP U18 team, and has not appeared in a game yet this year. He'll be eligible for a medical redshirt for this season.
Marble was the favorite to be the starting goalie for the Tigers this year after leading the NAHL in save percentage last year with a .938 mark. Josh Thorimbert will continue starting in his absence, and the Tigers will look at trying to bring in another goalie over the semester break to help give the Tigers some more depth in goal.
