Sioux City used their first tender for next season with a bit of a surprise by signing Finnish forward Eeli Tolvanen:
I am excited to announce that I have signed a tender with @Musketeerhockey .Thanks to @BluesNuoret and everyone who has helped me.

There is some connection to North America. His older brother Atte Tolvanen is a goalie for the Minot Minotauros of the NAHL and is currently committed to Northern Michigan.
But more importantly, Tolvanen looks like a very high-end prospect. His 39-45-84 scoring line in 41 games played led Finland's Jr. B SM-Sarja U18 league. He also played seven games in Finland's U20 league, and put up a respectable 5 points, so he's got a taste of playing at a junior hockey level.
It looks like he'll be a very high-end prospect for next year's Musketeers. Signing Tolvanen to a tender means the Musketeers forfeit their first round choice in the upcoming Phase I Futures Draft. Tolvanen is also guaranteed to dress in at least 55% of his team's games next season.
