Ryan Lomberg's rights are on the move again. Just under a month after acquiring his rights from the Muskegon Lumberjacks, the Lincoln Stars have shipped the Richmond Hill, Ontario native to the Youngstown Phantoms.
A '94, Lomberg just completed his sophomore season at the University of Maine where he registered 11 goals and seven assists. Speculation is that he will play the 2014-15 season in the USHL following an assault charge stemming from an off-campus altercation.
The Bangor Daily News reported Lomberg's charges were lessened today, but Johnny Mehler of WLBZ-TV said that was premature. According to Mehler on twitter, a plea deal is in the works, but it hasn't been finalized.
