Here's a few notes on the draft:

-Every player, even those headed off to college had to be selected, largely for league administrative purposes. Every player from Josh Jacobs downward is expected to head off to college next year and will be placed on that teams college list(with the exception of Michael Turner, who will play in the OHL next year).

-There was a bit of a surprise when Denis Smirnov was drafted first overall by Fargo. The Force were rumored to be interested in some other players with that first pick, but those players weren't interested in playing in Fargo. Smirnov was rumored to not be interested in playing in Fargo either, so it will be interesting to see if he reports, and what happens with the CHL Import Draft.

-The Force also took Mitch Slattery with their second pick. If Fargo can get both Smirnov and Slattery in their lineup next season, it should be a quick rebuild for a Force team that was brutal last year.
