Blake Siebenaler Signs with Niagara Ice Dogs

Siebenaler chooses the OHL over the USHL.

Blake Siebenaler, a '96 born defenseman from Fort Wayne,  Indiana announced yesterday that he has signed with the Niagara Ice Dogs of the Ontario Hockey League:

Two years ago, Siebenaler played on the very talented Cleveland Barons U16 team, and earned an invite to the NTDP's final 40 tryout camp. Though he did not make the NTDP squad, he did play four games last season with the U17s last year as an injury fill-in, while also playing with the Belle Tire U16 squad, and getting into a few games with the Indiana Ice of the USHL.

The Ice had selected him in the second round of the 2012 Future's Draft, and were hoping to have him in their lineup full-time this year. Siebenaler had not committed to an NCAA school, but as a player considered to have a lot of upside, the rangy defenseman was on the radar of numerous NCAA schools.
