Colin White Signs With Ottawa Senators, Forgoes Final 2 Years at BC

Boston College sophomore center Colin White has elected to forgo his final two seasons of collegiate eligibility.

White signed an amateur tryout agreement with the AHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators, the Binghamton Senators. He will sign an entry-level contract with the organization that will kick in next season.

White finishes his Eagles career with 35 goals and 41 assists in 72 games. He had 16 goals and 17 assists this past season that concluded Saturday night with a 4-3 loss to UMass Lowell in the Hockey East Championship game. He finished third on the Eagles in scoring while missing five games due to the World Juniors and concussion-related symptoms earlier in the season.

The Hanover, Mass. native was an integral part of the Gold Medal-winning United States squad at the 2017 World Junior Championship. He had seven goals and one assist in seven games throughout the tournament.

White was selected with the 15th overall pick by the Sentors in the first round of the 2015 NHL Draft out the U.S. National Team Development Program. He played two seasons of prep hockey with Noble & Greenough School before heading to play for the NTDP.
