Boston College senior forward Chris Calnan appeared on crutches at Thursday night's Hockey East ceremony at Fenway Park. The Norwell, Mass. native missed 11 games last season, in part due to a lingering foot injury suffered in a late November game at New Hampshire.
Calnan, who was a third round selection of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2012 NHL Draft, finished the year with three goals and eight assists. Through 103 career games, he has 18 goals and 22 assists.
Calnan is expected to be ready to go come October. When healthy, he's a very effective two-way center who can take key face-offs in the defensive zone and be heavy on pucks.
