Buffalo - Boston University recruit Clayton Keller was the first NCAA recruit taken in the 2016 NHL Draft. The U.S. NTDP center was selected with the seventh overall pick in Friday night's first round at the First Niagara Center.
The all-time career and single season assists record holder with the NTDP is a slick, play-making forward. The Swansea, Ill. native played at Shattuck St. Mary's before heading to the NTDP. He played alongside fellow BU commit Kieffer Bellows on the top line for the U18 team this year. Some NHL scouts questioned his size leading up to the draft, but his elite skill level is undeniable.
