Alum James Marcou added to UMass staff

First year University of Massachusetts head coach Greg Carvel has added alum James Marcou as a volunteer assistant coach.

Marcou, a Kings Park, NY native, played for the Minutemen from 2007 through 2010 before forgoing his senior season to sign with the San Jose Sharks organization. Marcou had 34 goals and 96 assists in 109 collegiate games. He played in just three seasons with the Worcester Sharks, the AHL affiliate of San Jose, before having to retire due to medical reasons.

Marcou, who has been an assistant coach at Milton Academy, came back to Amherst to finish his degree.
