Providence's Jake Walman to Undergo Season-Ending Surgery

Providence College sophomore defenseman Jake Walman will miss the rest of the 2015-16 season to undergo surgery due to an injury initially suffered in December, Nate Leaman announced Wednesday.

The St. Louis Blues draft pick had 13 goals and 15 assists in 27 games played this season. The Hobey Baker Award nominee leads NCAA defensemen in goals, points per game, power play goals and game-winning goals.

Providence College, the defending NCAA Champion, faces UMass Lowell in the first Hockey East semifinal at the TD Garden in Boston, Mass. on Friday, March 18 at 5 p.m.
