BOSTON — Good evening and welcome inside historic Matthews Arena on the campus of Northeastern University where the Huskies and No. 4 Boston University open a Hockey East home-and-home series with their 228th all-time meeting.

Faceoff is set for 7 p.m. The game will be streamed live, and for free, on

The Terriers are taking the ice for the first time since Oct. 22, when they completed a weekend sweep of Connecticut teams with a 3-0 win over Quinnipiac. Tonight marks BU’s Hockey East opener.

Freshman Jake Oettinger pitched back-to-back shutouts in BU’s last weekend of action, making him the first Terrier goalie since Sean Maguire in March 2013 to turn the feat.

Oettinger, whose .947 save percentage ranks fifth in the nation, made 22 saves against the Bobcats after a 24-save performance in a 7-0 win over Sacred Heart.

Patrick Harper leads the Terriers offensively with six assists and eight points five games into his freshman season, while Jordan Greenway has six points on the season, five of which came in BU’s last two games. Greenway scored the game-winning goal each time out two weekends ago.

Northeastern will look for another quick start this evening, as 13 of its 25 goals this season have come in the first period. Sophomore Adam Gaudette leads NU with five goals after scoring just 45 seconds into Sunday’s 3-2 loss to Vermont.

Gaudette, senior Zach Aston-Reese and sophomore Dylan Sikura all rank in the top-13 in the nation in points. Nine of Sikura’s 11 are assists, tying him for the national lead.
