BC Throttles UMass for York's 1,000th Win

Boston College legendary head coach Jerry York picked up his 1,000th career victory Friday night as his Eagles throttled Massachusetts, 8-0, at the Mullins Center in Amherst.

The Eagles scored five teams in the first period to take commanding control of the game. Ian McCoshen, Alex Tuch, Chris Calnan, Colin White and Miles Wood tallied markers for BC.

Austin Cangelosi scored the Eagles' second consecutive shorthanded goal to begin the second period. Teddy Doherty and Ryan Fitzgerald added goals to make it 8-0 after 40 minutes.

Junior Thatcher Demko stopped all 20 shots he faced for the shutout.
