Former University of Maine forward Liam Pecararo has committed to play college hockey for Northeastern University. The '96 LW from Canton, Mass. is playing this season with the Waterloo Black Hawks in the USHL.
A product of the Boston Advantage youth program, Pecararo has six goals and 12 assists in 16 games this season for P.K. O'Handley's Black Hawks. He represented the U.S. in this year's World Junior A Challenge.
He had three goals and six assists in 25 games last season as a Black Bear, but left the program following the season. He had multiple offers and interest from Big Ten, NCHC and Hockey East schools to play next season, but he preferred to play close to home.
