Vermont extends hockey coach Kevin Sneddon

Matt Dewkett

The University of Vermont has extended the contract of head hockey coach Kevin Sneddon, who will begin his 13th season behind the bench guiding the Catamounts in the fall.

A Harvard alum and former head coach at Union, Sneddon has helped revive the Vermont program and spearhead the program into Hockey East from ECAC Hockey. After a couple down seasons, UVM has bounced back the past two years including an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2014 and an upset victory over Boston College and a trip to the Hockey East Tournament at the TD Garden in 2015.

With assistant coaches Kyle Wallack and Kevin Patrick, UVM has gained traction on the recruiting trail and picked up several very solid commits over the past year. Wallack has done a nice job of identifying talent at the New England prep level, the USPHL and out west in the BCHL.
