Brett Pesce signs with Carolina Hurricanes

Gil Talbot

University of New Hampshire junior defenseman Brett Pesce signed a three-year entry level contract with the Carolina Hurricanes over the weekend. The 2013 NHL Draft pick of the organization forgoes his senior season year with UNH.

A Tarrytown, New York native, Pesce missed nine games this season with a lower body injury. He's a fluid skater who doesn't do anything overly flashy. He's just really solid in all three zones. He has nice vision, skates well and makes smart decisions with the puck.

Pesce had three goals and 13 assists in 31 games played. UNH was above 500 with him in the line up and 2-6-1 without him.
