Lowell, Mass. -- Notre Dame and UMass Lowell begin their quest to advance to next weekend's Hockey East semifinals at the TD Garden in Boston Friday night in game one of the Hockey East quarterfinals.

The River Hawks won the regular season series, 1-0-1, with both games in South Bend. UMass Lowell won, 3-1, in the first game and the two teams tied, 1-1, in the series finale.
