As it has been accustom the Hockey East seedings and playoff pairings once again came down to the final day of the regular season. Boston University clinched the regular season title and New Hampshire wrapped up the final home ice spot in the first round.
Thanks to BC's loss at Notre Dame and its convincing win on senior night over Maine, Providence College claimed the No. 2 seed. The Eagles and UMass Lowell also will receive byes in the first round.

4. UMass Lowell
First Round Match-ups:
No. 12 Massachusetts at No. 5 Notre Dame
No. 11 Merrimack at No. 6 Northeastern
No. 10 Maine at No. 7 Vermont
