CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Good afternoon and welcome inside Kelley Rink at Conte Forum on the campus of Boston College where the No. 2 Eagles return from the Thanksgiving holiday to host RIT in a Saturday non-conference matinee. Faceoff is set for 4 p.m.
BC is off to its best start (11-1-0) under 22nd-year head coach Jerry York, who is just five wins away from 1,000 in his career. The Eagles scored four goals in the first period and never looked back en route to their tenth straight victory on Tuesday night, a 5-1 decision at UConn.
Junior Matthew Gaudreau scored a goal in Tuesday's game and last Friday's 6-3 win at UNH, extending his career-long point scoring streak to seven games. Colin White is the top rookie scorer in the nation with 20 points and has put together multi-point games in each of his last six.
The Eagles both the best offensive and defensive units in Division 1 hockey, and are the only team with a positive scoring margin (+3.25) over three goals per-game through 12 contests.
RIT has last weekend off after losing back-to-back overtime games to Bentley by 3-2 scores, a first in the Tigers' Division 1 history. Before the setbacks, the Tigers were unbeaten in four straight games.
Sophomore Chase Norrish scored both goals in the Nov. 13 loss in which RIT posted a Division 1 school record 56 shots on goal. The Tigers have outshot their opponent in their last seven games, but will have a tough challenger to keep that trend alive in their final non-Atlantic Hockey game this season.
