Hockey East Suspends UConn's Segalla

Matt Dewkett

Hockey East suspended University of Connecticut junior defenseman Ryan Segalla for one game, the league announced on Thursday.

The Pittsburgh Penguins prospect was disciplined for a spearing incident with 3:05 gone by in the second period. He was not assessed a penalty on the play, but was whistled for three other penalties in the game. Segalla, who has two assists in eight games, has missed four games this season.

He will miss Tuesday's game against Boston College at the XL Center. He'll be eligible to return Dec. 5 against UMass Lowell.
