Dalton MacAfee is no longer a member of the hockey team at Boston University. The former St. Sebastian's star defenseman would have been a sophomore this season for David Quinn's Terriers. MacAfee, a Needham, Mass. native, is the son of former Notre Dame football All-American Ken MacAfee and a former Fighting Irish lacrosse recruit.
It is not yet known where MacAfee will land. A '94, he has one year left of junior hockey eligibility or he could play college lacrosse instead.
The Terriers unveiled their 2014-15 roster yesterday, including four previously unannounced recruits. Freshman forward Jack Eichel is one of the most talked about American-born prospects in years. He is expected to go in the top five of the 2015 NHL Draft.
