Northeastern Names Former captain McLaughlin Director of Hockey Operations

The Huskies begin their season Sunday with an exhibition contest against Acadia.

Northeastern University head coach Jim Madigan announced the hiring of former Huskies captain Mike McLaughlin as the program's new Director of Hockey Operations. The Seaforth, Ontario native returns to his alma mater to replace Jason Smith who was promoted to an assistant coach when Patrick Foley departed for an opportunity outside hockey.

McLaughlin played at Northeastern from 2008-2012, scoring 23 goals and 23 assists in 120 career games. As the Director of Hockey Operations, McLaughlin will be responsible for advanced scouting, video analysis and statistical breakdowns.
