Former Merrimack College forward Connor Toomey is transferring to Plattsburgh State for the final year of his eligibility, according to a source close to the situation. Toomey, a Billerica, Mass. native had 13 goals and 24 assists in 94 games played for Mark Dennehy's Warriors.
Toomey, whose father is the fifth all-time leading scorer at Merrimack, had some off-ice issues that resulted in his dismissal from the team earlier this offseason. He's small, but he's quick and has a knack for the net when he's focused on the play on the ice. He plays with an edge, which will make him a fan favorite at PSU.
