Vermont defenseman Caylen Walls has forgone his final two years of collegiate eligibility to sign with the Quad City Mallards in the Central Hockey League (CHL).
The Lyalta, Alberta native played in 60 career games for the Catamounts, including 26 this past season as a sophomore. He registered just one point while racking up 38 penalty minutes.
Walls announced his decision on his twitter account, according to the Burlington Free Press' Ted Ryan, the first to report the signing. Ryan suggested the Catamounts will miss Walls' physical presence on the blue line.
