When asked shortly after an East regional final loss to Union last week, Providence goaltender Jon Gillies could only offer up a 'No comment' when asked if he would be returning to Providence for his junior year, or signing an entry-level contract with the Calgary Flames, who drafted Gillies in the third round of the 2012 NHL Draft. On Thursday afternoon, Gillies ended all speculation by announcing via Twitter that he will be returning to Providence for his junior season:
officially ready for one more year in Friartown! #family http://t.co/QbCfPPWR3u

Gillies was outstanding in his sophomore season for the Friars, posting a .931 save percentage(5th best nationally) and a 2.17 goals against average(13th nationally), and his return should be a huge boost to the Friars next season.
